Widex Moment

Moment is the latest release from Widex, coming from a desire to create a natural, undistorted sounding Hearing Aid.  The main cause of distorted sounds from Hearing Aids is the difference in the time it takes sound to naturally reach your ear and the sound that is processed by the Hearing Aid and then delivered to your ear. This difference is usually a split second but still causes a distorted and artificial sound. Although Hearing Aid technology is advancing rapidly there has always been an issue with this distortion causing discomfort for users and being a cause for some to not use their Aids. Moments uses ZeroDelay Technology, and the Widex PureSound, which work as part of an ultrafast system to try to minimise the gap between the time it takes sound to reach the brain from your ear, to that from the hearing aids.

The ZeroDelay Pathway is an ultra-fast signal pathway reducing the processing delay between microphone and receiver.. This means that the sound the microphone in your Hearing Aid picks up takes less than 0.5 milliseconds to reach the receiver in your ear. Minimising the time this takes means you end up with less sound distortion as the sound reaches your brain much quicker than before.

Moment Hearing Aids are also coated with a water resistant nano coating designed to reduce the risk of moisture damage to help the Aids wear better over time.

Moment also allows for direct Bluetooth streaming sound from Apple or Android devices.

The Moment is available in a further three technology levels and a range of styles, rechargeable ones available for an extra £150 per aid.

Needs to be purchased with a single Hearing Aid to receive the transmitted sounds.

Widex CROS

Widex’s Contralateral Routing Of Signal, or CROS, is for those who suffer from single sided deafness. The CROS system works by using a transmitter in the ear with loss to pick up the sounds from that side and sending them wirelessly to a receiver in your other ear. The BiCROS works similarly whilst also providing support for loss you may be suffering in the ear with the receiver.

Widex CROS transmitter lets you choose from a range of models in the DREAM hearing aid family.

For your ear that will be receivng the signal, you can choose from a range of models from the Widex DREAM family to give you superior sound quality. And with Widex’s wireless technology you will get to enjoy listening without echoes or distortion when your WIDEX CROS is active.

Widex’s advanced battery saving technology means they use up to three times less than the average CROS system, letting you benefit from a longer lasting battery.
